MONDAY AFTERNOONS......OPEN KNITTING FOR YOUNGER KNITTERS.  Receive instruction, or just hang out and knit with Kay. Kay is my 16 year old daughter.  She’s an excellent teacher/knitter - and for some reason, kids enjoy knitting with her more than they do me!    Some classes will be offered as well.  Cost is $5 plus any materials that might be purchased.

TUESDAY EVENINGS 6:00PM......................BEGINNER’S NIGHT This is an open knit group for people who are just learning, want to expand their knowledge, want to start something new or just enjoy the company of some wonderful ladies while improving their own skills.

WEDNESDAY MORNING 10:00AM..............The Wild Bunch.  This is an open knit group for people of varying skill level who enjoy good discussion as well as good knitting.  New faces are always welcome!

WEDNESDAY MAY 26....6:30PM......  6:30PM.....BEADED ACCORDIAN SCARVES.  Another one session class!   Using a summery DK or Light worsted yarn and pretty beads.....make yourself a great scarf for spring/summer.  Learn a quick and easy beading method, not to mention a great scarf pattern for both summer and winter weight scarves!

THURSDAY MAY 27....6:00PM......LILY OF THE VALLEY SCARF KNIT ALONG   Try to have beginning lace section finished....but if you haven’t done it yet, don’t worry - it goes quickly!  Join us!

MONDAY May 31              1:00pm   lap robes for Veterans (crochet) Bring squares or strips - or work on them here....we’ll put lap robes together and send them off to King Verteran’s Home in Waupaca, WI.    Liners and Slippers will be sent to Afghanistan. 

Monday May 31 (Memorial Day)   7:00pm.....Knitting book club.  Let’s see what everyone thought of the book, “Knitting”   We’ll knit or crochet, discuss the book, and pick a new book.  I still have a copy of Knitting available for anyone who’d like to read it.  Refreshments will be served.

Tuesday June 1 & June 8      6:00pm  -   Basic socks on the Magic Loop, dblpts or 2 circulars.
No matter how you want to make them, socks are fun....AND they are the perfect summer knitting project because they are so portable!   We’ll be using size 2 or 3 needles.  Hand knit socks make a great Father’s Day Gift!!!)

Saturday June 5....all day....Osceola’s Community Garage Sale.  Mrs I will have lots of yarn on sale!  (Patterns and needles, too).  In addition to store sales, there will be a table set up with lots of half skeins, sample skeins, & odd skeins.  For $5, you’ll be able to fill a bag! (Bags provided).

Monday June 7 & 14 .........10:00 am......Silky Wool lace cowl.  Drape it around your neck, pull it up as a hood...either way - this is beautiful (and what a great gift).  Light enough for cooler summer nights, but warm enough for winter, too.  Uses size 8, 7, and 6 16" circular needles

Saturday June 12......WORLD WIDE KNITTING IN PUBLIC DAY.......Let me know if you’d like to sit on one of our downtown store windows and knit!  Weather permitting, we’ll be knitting outside at Mrs I’s all day, too!  AND Saturday evening, June 12 is KNIT KNITE (pitch n stitch) at the OSCEOLA BRAVES GAME in Oakey Park!  Bring your knitting and receive $1 off admission (reg admission $2.00) OR stop by Mrs. I’s during the day and get a FREE PASS!  There will be drawings between innings for free skeins of yarn, gift certificates and a hand knit, custom designed OSCEOLA BRAVES hat. 

Monday June 14.............2:00pm.....(for younger knitters or crocheters) Flip flop socks.  Knit or crochet these cute half socks to wear with your flip flops!  Fun!

Sunday June 27...........1:00pm......Baby layettes to be donated to area hospitals for newborns in need, or stillborn babies.  Using “The Homecoming” pattern from Cabin Fever, we’ll knit preemie and newborn size sweaters and hats (one piece, top down pattern).   The pattern uses a dk wt yarn.   Any soft, easy care yarn is acceptable.  If purchasing yarn for this project at Mrs. I’s, you’ll receive $1 off/skein and there will be no charge for the pattern.    There will be refreshments and maybe a movie, too! 

Monday July 5 & 12...........1:00pm........Make your own knitting needles!  We’ll be sanding, filing, sharpening....and, using a polymer clay, make unique tops for our needles.  When we’re finished with our needles, we’ll start knitting bean bags (felted, then stuffed).  A great project for younger knitters! 

Tuesday July 6 ..........11:00..........Crochet a bag w/recycled silk.  Vegan is my yarn of choice for this simple, sturdy and beautiful crochet purse.   Use just the recycled silk, or supplement with a cotton or banana silk. 

Wednesday July 7........3:00pm.......Knit a simple summer shawl using the ½ Mountain Colors wool crepe.  All you do is knit - but what a beautiful summer wrap! (Fall, too).  Come in and pick your color by June 25.....I’ll special order so you can get exactly what you want!
